  Property Type:
  Boutique villas
  Number of Rooms :
  8 Bungalows

SANDA BUTIK VILLAS are nestled in the foothills of Mount Batukaru, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas in the South of Bali.
If you would like to get away from the sometimes oppressive heat and tempo down South why not come up to SANDA for a night or two? Relax by the swimming pool, enjoy the scrumptious meals in the restaurant, take a leisurely walk through the coffee plantations and be generally pampered by our friendly, local staff.

To return to that old colonial atmosphere SANDA BUTIK VILLAS have been spread amongst the trees of an old coffee plantation. Most of the coffee trees have been retained and, needless to say, we serve coffee grown from our own plants. Other exotic trees like Papaya, Mango and Durian (hold your breath - tastings can be arranged when the owners are away) abound throughout the property.

Guest Rooms

Telephone/Fax: No telephone lines are available in Sanda. We do, however, have an over-dimensional mobile phone (except it cannot be moved) and whereas we cannot help with phone calls, we can receive and send faxes for you.

Bar Fridge: Yes, there is one in your room. If there is something you want and it's not in the fridge, just shout (no pun intended) and we'll see what we can do. On your dressing table you will find a Thermos with clean drinking water.

Television: Yes, that too, is there. The remote control and channel 1) will bring you in house movies. The picture frame on the bed side table will give you a full list of stations available. In house movie titles may be requested and selected from our VCD library.

Swimming Pool: Although it contains a massive 85,000L of water it is only 1.4m deep, diving is thus not recommended. You will find bath towels in your room.

Coconut Palms: All coconuts adhere strictly to Mr. Newton's law. Falling ones have right of way! Please look out (up, rather).

Electricity: About 220v. In the bathroom there is also a power point for 110v. This, of course, is on the assumption that we do have power. The odd power failure does occur and can be quite romantic after dark. Don't worry though, we do have our own power generator.

Happy Hour: 5-6pm. Ted (old East-African hand) serves his very Colonial Pink Gins free of charge (Mansion gin - excellent, local brand).

Check Out Time: If you must leave us we suppose 12 noon is a good a time as any. If your room has not been booked by someone else, we would be flexible.

Ceiling Fans: All bedrooms have fans. One pull (gentle, please) starts the fan off at the highest speed. A second pull brings it down to half speed. A third pull results in very slow speed, and a fourth pull stops it.

Air Conditioners: You will probably not need your air conditioner on "Cool" at night. You may, however, find a setting on "Dry" very comfortable.

Room Service: Of course!

Smoking In The Rooms: This is always a tricky one, but let's bite the bullet: Please restrict your smoking to the verandahs.

Dining

Our restaurant with magnificent views from rice fields and rainforest to glimpses of the ocean, not only caters for our in-house guests but has an extensive menu for those travelers who wish to just take in the scenery for a lunch-time break.

The road from the south of the island through to the north upon which we are situated boasts the finest views of Bali's famed rice terraces and mountainous terrain. Even if you are just touring the area, a fine dining experience awaits you at the Sanda Villas Restoran.

Sports & Recreation

Trekking: Mountain and rice field walks can be organised for you, complete with a local guide who will make your sight seeing of this spectacular area, safe and memorable. Plenty of film for your camera is must, as every direction you look is a photo you simply must have.

Swimming: As SANDA is a little cooler than the south of Bali, the pool stays a bit more refreshing after a relax in the deck chairs. It is salt water and maintains a constant 23° C.

Board Games: We have a large selection of board games available including backgammon, chess and cards, etc.

Tours: Excursions to the local areas of interest can be organised for you and as you are already in the highlands of Bali you can see the more remote sights of the island with much less traveling time.

Relaxation: The large balconies complete with comfortable lounges overlooking the rice fields let you experience that most important activity..... relaxing!
